Lucas "Luke" Jackson played by Paul Newman in
"Cool Hand Luke" an amazing movie. I was introduced to it years ago as it was my dad's favorite movie. I watched it and liked it as a child because "my dad" liked it. As I grew older and re-watched the movie I found myself drawn into Luke's character and the struggle within himself. I was also mesmerized by Paul Newman on screen. He had such charisma and screen presence that hasn't been matched by many since.
My Dad died after a stroke at 63 but I still love watching this movie and thinking about my dad and enjoying Paul Newman's awesome portrayal of Luke.

Joel Goodsen in Risky Business. To see Tom Cruise top that performance I'll probably have to wait a lifetime.

Plot: 17-year-old Joel's parents go on vacation. Joel has the house all to himself. Instead of continuing to be the good son, Goodsen tries daddy's licker, takes daddy's Porsche on a test drive and hook-er up with a call girl. In the car chase scene, Joel, his school buddy and the call girl is being chased by her pimp. Joel's buddy: "Great! I got a trig mid-term tomorrow and I'm being chased by Guido, the killer pimp!"

I have many favorites, but one of my all-time favorites is Natalie Portman's character (Alice Ayres) in "Closer."

Alice Ayres, whose real name turns out to be Jane Jones, is so mysterious, tragic, and alluring at once. She is mysterious, because she reveals very little about herself, makes up a fake name, and is sort of a nomad who is able to pick up and move off back and forth between London and New York City.

She is also tragic, because when she wants to reveal true information about herself, no one believes her. She wants to be loved, but pushes people away. She can fall in love in a heartbeat and then stop loving them a second later. She has no identity, no real set life.

Most of all, she is alluring. No man can help but look at her, not only because she is beautiful, but because she can offer them everything that she probably shouldn't be having.

Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Carribean." What a great character. I also gotta agree with the first answer you got. "Empire Records" is one of my favorite movies, Lucas is my favorite in that one.

Silent Bob in Clerks & Dogma.

I like him because in Dogma he is almost a mirror image of my son right down to the facial expressions and wardrobe.
My son loved that movie too. Now he is dead but I feel like he's here when I see silent Bob.

Lucas from Empire Records. He's played by Rory Cochrane. I like him because he's so funny, cute, in the wrong and just plays it off like it's nothing. And that shoplifting scene he played in was hilarious.
