I like Gary Jules version better.

Technically only Gary Jules was a cover, Tears for Fears was the original.

I like the original better.

Well, I like the TFF version - more passionate, more depth. My kids, however like the GJ version and say the original is too slow. So maybe it's a generational thing. All I know is that it's a great song.
