Virtually nothing, but I'll take them off your hands for a couple dollars a piece.

Actually they're extremely valuble. One collector is looking to buy a near mint condition copy of the rare 1938 comic book that first introduced Superman for 1 million dollars. Hell, even if you don't have the one in question, it's pretty obvious that they're worth something.

If they're not, then my original offer still stands.

true true....the first issue of any of the most popular DC comics are extremely valueable because of the date alone, not to mention the content as a cultural monument to that era.

Marvel first editions are not as weighty pricewise, however, if it is a popular 1st edition you can get quite a bit. I suggesst if you have one you are interested in selling or auctioning pick up a comic collectors magazine, they always have the "blue book" value printed inside for a variety of different issues.

My advise to you is get the comics you have appraised for their value and take an insurance policy out on them if they are worth a substantial amount. If anything happens to them, meaning anything.....theft, damage, disaster problems you have something to work off for your insurance repayment. FEMA won't give you a thing for paper products, unless you can proove in a court of law that these collectables are worth more than 10 cents a pound and even then that is subjectable.

I assume you mean Action comics # 1 and after...when Big Blue first appeared...in 1938...

start at #1...ignore # 0 and 1A and 1B and 1C and all numbers that have a letter after them....then go to 2, then 3 and so on.

and pick up a copy of Overstreet...the price bible for comics...

and grade your own books and find out what your collection is worth....before you tell any comic book store or dealer what you have.

My known answer is this: a comic book is nicely worth precisely what you will get somebody else to pay for it. that is real, lots of the books revealed contained in the Nineties are nicely worth little or no on the instantaneous, quite in many circumstances because a great number of them talked about huge print runs and a great number of creditors, hoping to score a great number of money, offered dissimilar copies and hoarded them away until eventually a time even as that that they had be nicely worth plenty. yet even as the marketplace collapsed round the mid-90s, a great number of shops went lower than because they were stuck with tonnes of merchandise they couldn't provide away for free, and a great number of readers were left were dissimilar copies of Spawn questioning, "What now?" yet do not throw all of them out yet -- as a prevalent rule, it takes time for the marketplace to understand which books are the real collectibles, ie, which ones were the first appearances of certain characters or first works by utilizing certain artists. interior yet another 10-2 many years, we will have a much better concept of which '90s books are nicely worth something. also, in yet another 10-2 many years we would see fewer of those books round because some creditors can are starting to be rid of them by utilizing then, and the decreased grant would help push up call for. (the in person-friendly words reason comics from the Forties and '50s are so powerful on the instantaneous is because they are so uncommon... and they are uncommon because they weren't considered as collectibles back then, merely magazines to ascertain and toss once you're finished - which many housecleaning father and mother did even as their youthful ones weren't searching.) My suggestion: in case you want to promote them, promote them for what you imagine they are nicely worth. And in case you nonetheless have some left over, promote them for much less. or you could flow on ebay and be conscious what your books are going for there -- in case you in person-friendly words like the prevalent public sale bids you be conscious, you could attempt promoting them there. yet if you're no longer in a hurry to inform, enable them assemble for a lengthy time period. You under no circumstances comprehend what would ensue in many years, and contained in the meantime you'll have some strong leisure on your palms. If the '90s taught us something, that is that the in person-friendly words powerful comic is the only which makes you want to ascertain it. merely my 2 cents, M.
