There is a saying that I think fits this question..."People are only as faithful as their options."
It is a biological imperitive that is in all of us to reproduce..but the thing that seperates us from the animals is the fact that we can control our urges.

Yes, even on a biological level. Here's why: only about 1% of the sperm a man makes is actually fertile (that is to say, actually capable of fertilizing an egg) the other 99%, which scientists thought were vestigial until recently are actually designed to fight and kill the sperm of other men inside a woman's body. It's literally like "We'll hold 'em off, you go for the egg!" Men have evolved warrior sperm in response to women's infidelity. And of male infidelity is obvious and easily observed.
Now, not every man or woman is polygamous. Many, in fact probably the majority, are monogamous and have managed to engineer social mores that lionize and preserve their chosen mating strategy. Beyond the justification of popular consensus, a society that is monogamous is more resistant to STDs and food scarcity from overpopulation, so for the last five thousand years monogamy was far and away the preferable alternative. Now of course, with the development of birth control and other preventative measures for STDs and unwanted pregnancy, the vilification of the polygamous people is no longer warranted.

Ive never cheated on a partner and never will!! And there are many people out there just like me however there are just as many whom I like to refer to as bedhoppers. They just cant keep it in their pants and are always hopping from bed to bed sowing their seed or spreading their legs. (which makes me sick at the thought)
I think its more a state of mind for some people and what morals they have. Doing something like this they obviously dont care about the other persons feelings and that they will get hurt out of it, they are selfish and only thinking of their own needs and nothing else.
There is the factor of the unfaithful partner bringing home a disease to their partner which is really unfair and immoral.
Alot of people seem to make the excuse that they werent being paid enough attention by their current partner and that the new person who shows up giving them compliments and buying them little things made them feel good so they just went with it.
There are some out there that think they are not going to get caught so take the chance. They think they are hiding the signs and yet they stick out like dogs balls.
And there are some out there that have dumb*sses for a partner that can say ok although you found another sheilas knickers in our bed I wasnt playing up on you those are yours when you were a few kilos/pounds lighter and the stupid partner says ok and forgives them.
Meaning it depends on the circumstances, opportunity and a persons morality.
Cheers

I don't think it's a part of human nature, I just think it's in some peoples nature, because no everybody doesn't cheat, and the ones that do don't deserve to have anyone to love them anyway.

No not everyone cheats, my husband and I do not, we believe one cheats if they no longer love the other, if u no longer have the desire for someone u should tell them and move on instead of hurting them. Unfaithfulness is not human nature one choose to cheat for various reasons, for each is own.

I don't cheat, but I have in the past. However, I think a lot of it has to with growing up and what you value. There comes a point when you have to decide if it's worth it. I've made my mistakes, but know there is so much more to life than cheating.

I think its human nature. We are animals. The people who had the most sex passed on their genes over many generations. Men are more designed for cheating than women, because of the larger biological investment in children that women have. Most places worldwide sort of consider it ok.

Unfaithfulness is something everybody has to face and fight. Some win. It's like any other sin. . .you have to fight it or it wins. Only the strong survive.
I've not cheated, though.

Well if the person is still young, and is still curious yes i do think they will cheat, but if you found that person you feel comfortable and can share EVERYTHING with you will not cheat, and if you do cheat you will realize its not the right thing and you wont ever do it anymore. So no not everyone cheats if you are certain

No, unfaithfulness is a lack of willpower. It shows that a person does not kow how to control themselves.
