Stick with the 4 stroke. The wider power band makes them much easier to ride, they hold up better, use less gas and there is a really good chance the current 2 strokers will be banned for polution reasons.

If you are used to a 4-stroke, you may want to stay w/ one. 2-strokes are a different deal and it might be good to stick w/ what you know. Get one of the new 4-stroke MXers

Two strokes are great because they run cleanest wide open throttle. More power per cc than almost any 4 stroke, but usually only air cooled. The power comes from the a power stroke every revolution per cylinder compared to 2 on a 4stroke. Its up to you, personal preference is everything.

I would suggest you try one out first - borrow one from a friend for a few rides. 2 strokes are such a different animal. I started out on a 2 stroke and soon switched to 4 - never looked back. And it's so nice to not have to mix your gas. Have fun!

2 strokes by far. twice the power of a 4 stroke, thats why they have to race a4 stroke thats teice as big, cc engine wise to compete. 2 stroke are much cheaper to maintain, and have an awesome power curve.

You can get similar performance from both but mostly it depends on personal preference. borrow a 2-stroke from a friend or test drive one. the main difference is one has more low end torque while the other is better in mid to high range.
