Concord, California: lots of jobs and affordable housing (if you don't mind some long-distance driving, e.g. work in Bay Area and live in Concord.)

I'm visiting in Carmel,IN .I know that housing in Indianapolis is very low compared to Scottsdale AZ where I live. The city is beautiful and has a great downtown area There are a lot of employment opportunities and it has Lilly Corp and other major firms here . I don't think its the lowest costs or the most jobs. Maybe Atlanta ?

I don't really know how to figure out the ratio exactly, but a great city with lots of jobs, low pollution, and fairly low real estate prices is Austin Texas.
