Know yourself well so your true self can be commuicated to another rather than an image conjured up to satisfy the supposed desires of others.

there are many things, but the most important things I can think of are honesty, communication, and friendship. Trust is also a good one. Treat the other person as you would want to be treated. The most important factor of all is having God and our Lord Jesus Christ in your life and marriage. Satan the deceiver is out to destroy and devour whom he can.
