I wouldn't be too nervous about it. It doesn't really hurt that bad (but I do have a high tolerance for pain) and the little pain it does have doesnt last very long just the initial needle they stick through. If you go get it done just do not think about the process of the peircing and "if it is going to hurt bad" when I think that way it hurts more. Just think about going to the beach with this cute belly button ring in. Take someone with you who can ease your nerves when you get it done! good luck :) make sure you take care of it. It is easy to get an infection there and leave a scar outside of the actual piercing.

I actually got mine pierced when I was 16...it hurts. They clamp off the skin and then stick a big fat needle through...but, the idea of it is actually worse than the actual event. It's over pretty quickly. But, the truth is I wouldnt recommend it. You have to take care of it SO much so it doesnt get infected, it always snags on your shirt or pants and pulls and it hurts. Besides, it leaves a scar. I only had the ring in for a year, and then I let it close, but I have had the scar ever since. I dont know if you are planning to have kids in the future, but also, I had my daughter in January, and now it looks REALLY bad...it was just a dot, like a big earing hole, but now it is huge and there is a big purple scar from it down into my belly button crevice....so, in the future, if you have kids, expect it to look kinda nasty. Just speaking from personal experience. Want you to make an informed decision and not just an impulsive one. Good luck!

I believe I got my belly button pierced when I was 18,19 maybe, I'm 23 now. No it didn't hurt. I didn't even know she had pierced it, that's how fast it was. I ended up taking it out later to find that it was crooked, but I think its really cute. I wouldn't get it done again but if its something you want to do make sure and go for it.
Good luck! Oh yeah....you might want to wait until after you go to the beach. The person who pierces it should give you some instruction for taking care of it.

well get it done after the beach cause it will swell and that isn't very pretty and also after you get a piercing you shouldn't go into lakes/oceans/ pools for about a month, because bacteria could get in and cause a serious infection, and belly botton, believe it or not, are one of the worst piercings for being prone to infection. i pierced my belly and it didn't hurt. but some people say it does. so it just veries from person to person. and you may want to be very carefull with the piercing, dont get a ring, get a barbell, and there is also a chance of migration just watch for that.

I had it done years ago, and I had to take it out after a few weeks. The actual piercing didn't hurt (I have a high tolerance for pain) but it refused to heal and it kept oozing yellow pus and the entire area was red and swollen. The navel is a really hard spot to heal b/c you're constantly moving, bending, etc. I would strongly recommend that you don't get it done, it'll just be more hassle than it's worth - and if you have to take it out due to infection, it'll be a waste of money. Good luck. :)

I have two. An upper and a low piercing. I won't lie and say it's completely painless. I mean you ARE sticking a needle into you. But the pain isnt THAT bad. And piercings are addictive you will want more. The belly ring does take a while to completely heal though. It's one of the more hard to heal piercings.
I say DO IT!

Hi my name is Brandi and i got mine done a few weeks ago, and i thought it was going to hurt bad, but i learned if u close your eyes and not watch as they put the needle in it it doesn't seem that bad. But it feels like a hard pinch just make sure you clean it. But what they do is they take a pair of clamps to hold your skin and they take this long needle and put it through your stomach and they put the tip of the ring and the top of the needle and pull the needle through your stomach for the ring to fall in place and then they clean you all up and your good to go! :) Good Luck!

to every person who gets it done the pain is different, you can have them freeze it(cost extra for some places) to lessen the pain or normally the pain will last maybe 2 seconds depending on who you are but some people have said it hurts like hell. and if it gets infected you could have stomach problems or maybe a big scar there too.

it's not nearly as painful as a tatoo..but it is just like an ear piercing--it's not as bad as you think.....i mean sure it will sting some for a while just like every piercing would but i think you should go for it because in the long run it will make your belly glamourous ;-)!
