First, asking this question was pretty good. At least I know you're thinking in the right direction. Listen to everyone's advice - I like it when you help out around home without having to be told - I would love it if you would find a sitter for the kids one evening and make some plans for just us - and yes, I do want to know what you're thinking and feeling, stop building a wall before me.
The roses and gifts would just be icing on the cake, and you know I prefer my cake without frosting anyways..
I love you too!

A book was written called "love languages" wherein the author basically explains that all people have a preferred love languages.
Some like hearing words of kindness or praise.
Others like thoughtful acts or deeds.
Others enjoy time spent with you.
Some like gifts.
How do you know what your spouse's love language is? You can tell by how she shows love to you. We typically show love the way we like to get it.
I know this may sound eclectic, I thought I'd shoot for an "out of the box" answer for extra points . Despite this, I still firmly believe in love languages.

Tell her you love her daily and then SHOW her you love her in different ways - hold her hand while out in public, always let her order first when you're out to dinner, call her during the day just to say hi and let her know you are thinking about her, listen to her when she speaks - even if you find the subject boring - for HER sake, just listen. And every now and then when you go out, let her decide what you're going to do. She will be so thankful for you and she will return the love to you ten-fold.

Suprise her with a big bunch of roses , fill up the bathtub with rose pedals and have candles burning around it, when she comes home from work. If she is not working ,then send her a bouquet of roses every Friday from now on. Love her ,treat her right and you will have a happy wife for ever.

Plan to be home before her one day. Light up the whole house with candles and rose petals. Then have dinner ready for her and over a bottle of wine tell her all the ways you cant live without her.

If you have kids together? offer to watch the children and give her a bunch of gift certificates to use for herself..
or
hire a baby sittter and reserve a hotel room say at comfort suites and take her out to eat. and then bring her back and have champagne, strawberries and whipped cream waiting.
or
send her 1 doz red roses and a big card expressing your undying love for her
or with your local radio station, call up and request a song to be dedicated to her..

Show her through the small things: give her a massage one night for no reason and just out of the blue. Write little notes and just show her that you love her. The best and simplist way to say I love you is just that: "I love you!"

Yes, it is nice to be told, but actions do speak louder than words. Help with the dishes without her having to ask. Prepare a nice candle light supper. Let her sleep in on weekends. It doesn't have to cost a fortune.
