I will have to say this. I used to have this problem when my period come on once every 2 to 3 months. Then it was like 1 or 2 times a year. I cant tell you that this is not a serious thing. Things that could be causing it is pregnancy, cyst, tumors, or fibroids. I found out I had cyst and fibroids. I feel its better to be safe than sorry about what happens later. With all that said, just take care of yourself and dont take warning signs for granted. This might be something that might lead to something more serious so please find out whats going on with your body. I hope you will make the right decision. If you need to talk to me in a more private area about this, you can let me know.

Yes your period can skip a month or two or even more, but it does not have to catch. When it does arrive again, it's just there. Whenever I am not taking birth control, I suffer from irregular periods, and I know that I am not alone.

It all depends on the woman. When I skip a month its much heavier and lasts a few more days when it finally does come. However, some women can go months without a period and when it finally comes nothing happens. Every woman is much diffrent, and if it seems as if your body is "catching up" with your period, thats completely normal.

Stress has caused me to have such a situation as you describe. Have a cup of camomile tea and know that you are very important. Yes, stress can actually cut off your periods. It happened to me for several months. I actually thought that I was pregnant. I started accepting invitations to the block club and even some to visit churches with my neighbors. I found that there were many other activities there that were of interest to me. For example, there was an oratory contest, a spelling bee, a cooking contest and even people were doing cross country. You may have to put yourself out there with others, just a little bit more. I believe that it will work out for you. I want you to relax. If these efforts, don't do the trick, try quiet contemplation. I have tried this trick, where I stick my hand into the Bible, and find such PEACE. I read Psalm 35 to (Plead My Cause) and it is of such comfort. Then I read Psalm 4 for (Safety and Protection). It helps against the unknown occurrences that we can avoid. "God daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation." - Psalm 68:19. Most of all, know this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31.

My ex-wife would go three months without a period than she would have one for a month straight. Her female doctor could not help her out even being on hormone therapy. I also have a friend who when she was in high school was doing so much running and had such a low body fat that she went a long time without a period.

It can happen. Especially when you first start getting periods. It can take a while for it to become regular. Even then things like stress and too much exercise can affect the regularity of periods.

Well, the skipping is not unusual, but I don't quite understand what you mean by "catch-up"
You might have a slightly heavier flow the next time, but it won't be doubled or tripled.

Yes it is true. it has happened to me-- don't know why it could be stress, diet, if you were really sick or injured. But your period will come back usually your cycle will change so keep track.
