Tupac was and still the best rapper ever even though he died. Are any rappers gonna be better than him? The Game is pretty in the "Face of LA" song but still not better than Tupac. What rapper is close to or will make a bigger impact on the rap world these days. Will it be The Game, Eminem, TI, the guys with the word young in there name Young Jezzy, Dro, Joc, 50 cent or any other modern day rappers will they be better than Tupac.

I'm not a huge fan of rap, more of a rock guy but tupac was a legend in music. Even if u hate rap, that is undeniable. No rapper will compare with him although fiddy is an icon of gangsta rap now. I personally like T.I. because of his orginality and true street feeling.

Rap has now progressed to a level not seen in Tupac's time. There are now many sub-genres of rap, each with their own "best rappers." Tupac was your all-around champion of his time, but many rappers nowadays are as good or better in their own respect. Ludacris has inventive and comedic lyrics, Fabolous has great style and lyrics, Twista is the fastest, Eminem is the master of acid rap, 50 cent has perfected Gangsta rap, Lil John has mastered the art of screaming "YEAAAYAH" without actually adding any value to songs that he is on, Missy Elliot is ever the innovator, Talib Kweli and Common are some of the best pure lyricists in the business, Dr. Dre has the best beats.... the list goes on.

So, basically, many of these rappers have attributes that set themselves apart from others and that make them even better than Tupac. What most of them lack is the universal acceptance that Tupac enjoyed both during his life and posthumously. This is why many people still consider Tupac to be the greatest rapper, despite the fact that his raps are neither the most sophisticated nor the most inventive.

Tupac is not over rated if people listened to his music they would understand and read his poetry they would see what an amazing artist is was and will continue to be. I don't think anyone will come close to him with this new crop of rappers. Tupac was not a rapper though (in my eyes) he is a poet. The only one that I think comes close is Jay-Z every rap Jay-Z writes is done in his head and he rememebers them. He has never written a rap down.
I do not listen to much rap anymore. Only club hits pretty much. I love rock new and old. I do think that 80% of the rap now is crap. I only two I like that you listed are 50 and Eminem. Rap was good with Nas, Jay-Z, Tupac, old Snoop and Dr. Dre to metion just a few.

As good as Britt's answer is it is out of a book. If you are truely a fan these are things that are not need to be looked up to know.

You're ok in my book. The answer is no, not the way rap is going. It's been crap for the last 5-6 years with just great beats.
The days of meaningful rap are over. Outkast was the next best thing but they're pretty much done now.

I don't hate rap, some of it's pretty good BUT when you watch the music shows on TV they all seem to look and sound the same and the film clips all look the same!
Where are the individuals??
You couldn't take 50 cent seriously could ya? But eminem seems to be the real deal.

Only a couple of rappers these days have anything worth saying, Kanye West and Eminem. The rest just spit out the same idiotic crap over and over again.

You're tough, you make lots of money, all the girls like you, everyone envies you....ENOUGH ALREADY...WE GET IT!!!!! Jesus **** how can an entire musical genre be based on an inferiority complex?!?!

no, that is the stupidest.TUPAC..........Of Course!

Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971–September 13, 1996), also known by his stage name 2Pac, was an American hip hop artist, poet and actor. He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the best-selling rap/hip-hop artist ever, having sold 73 million albums worldwide, including 44.5 million sales in the United States alone. He has had 17 top ten singles in the United States. He is consistently ranked by fans, critics and industry insiders as one of, if not the greatest rappers ever.

Born in New York City, New York, Tupac frequently found his family changing place of residence. In 1988, his family moved to the state of California where he would continue to reside for the rest of his life. In 1990 he was hired as a back-up dancer for the alternative rap group Digital Underground. Tupac's debut album, 2Pacalypse Now, gained critical recognition and a ranged amount of backlash for its controversial criticism of the police force. Shakur soon began to experience various law suits and legal troubles--most notably, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in 1993. The day before the guilty verdict was issued, Shakur was shot five times in a recording studio lobby in Manhattan. Following the incident, Shakur grew suspicious that other rappers were involved in his shooting; the controversy would help spark the later East Coast-West Coast feud. After serving 8 months of his sentence for the alleged assault, Shakur was bailed from prison by Marion "Suge" Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records. In exchange, Shakur would release three records under the label, with his fifth, being the double disc album All Eyez on Me counting as two albums. On September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot four times in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. On September 13, 1996, six days after the shooting, Tupac died of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest in a Las Vegas local hospital. Many posthumous albums have been released under Shakur's name.

Tupac's music addresses such topics as the hardships of growing up around violence in United States ghettos, poverty, racism, and his feuds with fellow rappers. He is known for the messages of political, economic, and racial equality that pervade his work as well as the "thug life" that he raps about living in. His music has attracted a large amount of controversy and was showcased in the media a number of times. He has gained a large amount of publicity for being one of the main figures in the East Coast vs. West Coast feud between his Death Row Records label and Bad Boy Records. During his lifetime, Tupac released five albums and played roles in several films.
