I think that it's good to wait as long as possible before adding make-up to the daily routine... But if it's for aspecial event then realy any age is ok (as long as they aren't like 6 or something...)

Well, I think it's more a matter of how much or what kind of makeup they can wear at what age.

For instance, when they're thirteen, glitter lipglosses or Bonne Bell products are fine for that age. In high school, I think it's okay for girls to experiment with makeup, so long as it's not heavy foundations (not necessary for young girls and teens).

If you're talking about a full face of makeup, though, basically I would say late teens. Full face of makeup meaning: lipstick/gloss, eye makeup, face powders/creams. Nonetheless, natural beauty is key, and the makeup should only enhance what's already there.

whenever they hit puberty. That's always good to cover up acne. I have to say if they start pimples early, like maybe 4th or 5th grade, limit them to cover-up. anything else should wait until at least 6th grade and show them how to do it without over doing it. i see younger girls maybe 11 or 12 walking around looking like 17 year olds. when I was 14 I always wore a lot of makeup and the boys got the wrong impression so I learned a new natural style to put on that looks almost invisible

well, when i was 13 i started getting severe acne but i never mentioned makeup to my mom until she said she would put me on some medicine to clear me up. then i didnt need makeup, bc my new face was such a blessed thing to see without all the huge red sores. but just this year (im 16) i started wearing makeup. i started small, light eyeliner and shadow and mascara. then i used powder for a while, and now i use powder foundation, as well as the before mentioned. i think waiting this long has helped me in my self confidence. i know a bunch of girls (not even the cheer squad :) ) who wouldnt be cought in the shower without full makeup on. they drive me insane. but yes, i agree with the one that said earlier dont wait so long or theyll ask a friend (probably one of the cheer squad :) ) and end up looking goth or a walking maybelline advertisement board. keep telling her how beautiful she looks without makeup, and why the heck would she want to cover it up??
just remember girls, sun kissed, not sun kicked!!

At a young age, I think it's fine for girls to use brands such as Lip Smackers that don't really show and are made for pre-teens.

As for more mature make-up, I'd say around the time a girl starts getting acne, because it's cruel not to let them cover it up. If they have perfect skin, then, luck them! They probably don't need any make-up!

There isnt any certain age. The later you start, the better. If you start wearing makeup and you like it, you start wearing it all the time and you get used to seeing yourself like that, so most people end up disliking how they look without it.

I was allowed to wear makeup when I started high school (age14). However, my parents let me use moisturizer and other skin products to help control my acne when I was 12 or 13.

PS- I was 14 a loooong time ago (1970).
