I got my spark plugs and wires replaced about a week ago the day after I picked my car up it started having trouble starting. I put the key in the ignition and nothing happens. The dash lights come on but no weird sounds from the engine or anything like that. On the second or third try it will start like normal. What is going on?!

need more info, if the engine isn't cranking when you turn the key you need to check the battery if ok then battery connections, starter, ignition switch

Check the battery from voltage, it needs to be a min of 12.5v to operate correctly. If the battery is fully charged (12.6v) the check the ground wire on the battery. and also make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. IF it still doesn't work have the battery checked out. A low charged or bad battery can cause the car not to start, and act as a bad starter. Auto Zone and Advance Auto Parts can check batteries starters, and alternators. on most vehicles (depends on local laws also) for FREE. You may check this out.

not adequate info right here...did the starter crank the engine over or became there no sound in any respect once you became the important? You suggested the headlights have been working so the battery is high quality. If the starter did not turn over examine connections to the battery, starter etc. Are there any grinding noises coming from the starter? I had a nissian that had some broken tooth on the flywheel and so the starter might crank yet of direction the engine won't turn over. i might ought to push it slightly and then attempt back. i might take it in and function all battery cables and connections checked. whilst this is there have them replace the gas filter out.

Typically before any work is done on a car the mechanic will remove the negative cable from the battery. Sounds like the mechanic either did not clean the cable and battery post before reconnecting the cable or didn't tighten the connection properly
Hope this helps

Not positive but it sound's like ignition switch or they might have bumped a wire hard enough to cause a loose connection.

could be the battrey, or the starter, or the altenator take it back to the garage you had the plugs, wires put in and tell them your problem.. or they don't have the cap on tight enough and it's not getting the spark till the 3-4 time around...

maybe they accidentally turned the rotor it could cause your timing to be off. You could also have a bad battery or poor connection it also could be a switched plug wire

Must be something in the air. We have 3 lawnmowers that won't start today.

Hubby says maybe your starter is sticking or not kicking in.
