I think it first depends on the maturity of the girl. As a mother of girls I am also very protective and want to know that my daughters will be safe when going out. At 10 or 11 is to young in my opinion. Yes you can have boyfriends at that age but don't try to make it something serious. A friendly boyfriend is going to be there a whole lot longer thatn a serious love intrest.
