First, you're both too young for sex. Second, she needs to be asking her mother, not you. Third, both of you should have had some sex ed classes, but if not, get a book at the library and read. Sex is NOT a toy, it is NOT to play with or look at or mess around. Sex is for married lovers that have the financial, emotional, psychological, and rational maturity to deal with the inevitabilities of pregnancy, children, and all of the responsibilities that come with it.
There is more than enough material available on the biological aspects of sex (how to do it) in books, videos, and on the internet (and I don't mean porno).
Basically, if she's asking questions she's not ready in any way shape or form to have sex and if she does, she's asking to be pregnant and with it the stigma and challenge of raising a kid on her own without any outside help (except her parents---maybe).
Use wisdom---help her understand the actions without responsibility and accountability will destroy her life (and the lives of many others)

I know that at this age, 16, hormones are raging and you are very curious to explore. I would simply tell your friend the truth about sex. However, I would also say that she should wait. What is the rush. Enjoy being a teenager. There is plenty of time for boys and sex. Do not let any boy pressure you are your friend into having sex right now. Boys can be very selfish and will say anything to have sex with you. Do not fall for their tricks of "I love you" and you are the only one for me, etc. It's alll a lie.
Though I never used any of these lines myself, I waited till I was a young adult 18 before I had my first experience. Please, wait. Enjoy being young. Don't wait it on adult activities like sex. Once gone you can never bring it back.
Hope this helps. Sorry to be so preachy. But you all should know.

Buy the book "Everything you wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask". My mother gave me a copy when I was 12. I think it would have been better to find out from my nerdy friends who had no clue. I have 5 boys and my friends have zero. I guess mom was right. Damn, wished I would have listened to my friends as these child support payments are killing me (joke).
STD is a major concern these days so advise your friend to wait until she gets married.

I think you are asking this question because YOU need to know, but youre covering it up by saying its yours friend who wants to know. If you really knew (even the littlest thing about it) you wouldnt be asking us. But since your "friend" wants to know, my advice is to tell her what you already know..or in your case, dont know.

Pardon the rudeness.. at 16, if you have to ask you don't need to know. Sex has long term consequences, like children, like HIV, and until you're ready to handle them, don't bother. and YOU should't even THINK about explaining it to her. tell her to ask her mom.

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttttttt. And her name is brittany d. And she lives in my house and is my sister and shares the same birthday as me, yet I don't have a twin and my mom never bore twins.
ASK A PARENT. ABSTINENCE until marriage. ESPECIALLY at your age.

Tell her to be prepared. Make sure you use protection. My sister got pregnant at 17 because she did not use protection.
