Diana Krall might be 1,000 times better but I don't think that proves that Norah Jones was overrated. Norah Jones might have gotten some breaks in the biz due to her blood relations, but they are both awesome jazz singers worthy in their own right.

Well, I don't know about Diana Krall, but Ella Fitzgerald is better then both. People just like Norah Jones and own her CD's, so they can act cultured when they really never heard a real jazz musician, like Miles or Charlie Parker.

Diana Krall is also overrated and way overexposed. But I agree with you about Ms. Jones.

That was more of a label decision to market her like that. She has a lot of musical range with a soft natural voice. She has a bluegrass band that is real good, and I have heard her do a alt-country duet with Ryan Adams and the Cardinal that was Awesome. She could do a great traditional country album.

Ha, Jane Monheit lords over all of them. Nah, I don't like that many female jazz singers. Norah kind of wears on me, though. I dig that she's Ravi Shankar's daughter.

Yah... but I liked Norah Jones too, especially, "Don't Know Why".

I can take only EXTREMELY small doses of her; would prefer to listen to Astrud Gilberto, Billie Holiday, Marlene Deitrich, or Ella Fitzgerald.

I absolutely love Norah Jones, and don't think its possible to over rate her. I think you're wrong.
