There r so many rumours that go about the existance of the Lost Continent Atlantis. Many scientists believe it to be pure myth.. but have they actually tried doing in depth research or archaeoligical exhibits to try and find its existance? Is there anybody out there whom shares the feeling of wanting to discover it yourself?

I'm terrified of scuba diving, so no, I can't say I'd want to discover Atlantis myself. But there are some scientists who are researching it. Check out the two links for two possibilities.
Historically, the story of Atlantis makes sense. You just have to do some homework. If you consider the developing cultures of the most ancient known civilizations, it becomes overwhelmingly apparent that they all held the same beliefs which logically originated from one society. So who discovered the beginnings of technology first? The seas could have risen (according to Plato, Atlantis existed at the end of the last ice age), and a highly developed society , threatened by flooding, would have had to migrate to the mainland, spreading their culture as they went. I personally think it has to be somewhere near south asia or the mid east, since those two areas are where the earliest traces of civilization began.

Aristotle testifies that his teacher Plato invented it, so it never really existed. There's no mention of it before his writings. He said Egyptian priests told Solon about it, but there's nothing about it in Egyptian literature. He said it was beyond Gibraltar, but geologists say it's impossible for such a place to be there. Plato says Athens defeated Atlantis, so it couldn't be a super civilization, even if it had been real. The time it was said to be destroyed makes no sense. Anyone who believes it was real is gullible. Believers in Atlantis probably also believe 2012 is the end of the world and other such "balle".

alot has been written about Atlantis, and scientiists often deny things, like continents moving, or rocks falling from the sky.
Science is a philosophy and a quasireligion.
We have lots of questions though as to the story of atlantis.
Was it really ancient, where was it, etc etc etc.
Remember. when the last ice age ended, flooding would have occured quickly around the world, and this is the the probable source of worldwide flood myths.
There are people, due to religions, culture, or some other belief that refuse to accpet things, unless it fits into their worldview. Remember, our knowledge of how large the universe is is about 80 years, till that time, scientists knew the milkyway was the universe.

That would be really cool, but I don't think I'm going to try it.

There are different beliefs about what Atlantis really was, if it was a reall place at all. The most off-the-wall one I've heard was that the Atlantean culture was actually the culture of Ireland (which supposedly shares Atlantis' physical measurements), and the sinking was not the whole island but a reef called Dogger's Bank.

The most plausible theory I've heard was that it was actually the Greek city of Helike, which was swallowed up by an inland sea thanks to seismic activity. This sea later went dry, and archaeologists have excavated Helike underground.

Well, I don't want to discover it myself, but I think that it could be out there based on the fact that everyone thought that The Odyssey by Homer was a myth or fiction, until an archaeologist found factual evidence of the city Troy, now widely accepted by the world.
I like to believe that Atlantis exists.

I have always wanted to try and find Atlantis!! I believe that it is real. But there is also a part of me that believes that Plato wrote the story to warn the human race about what would happen if we got to greedy or powerful for our own good. I mean, look at hitler or saddam. Their "empires" became powerful because they tried to play God. And they (well hitler so far) were destroyed. just like atlantis.

Important to remember, science is controled. And those controlling it don't want you to know anything about atlantis. We are kept in the dark about many things, like our origins. I'm thinking that atlantis is a part of our origins or at least some of us.

Whether or not this is true or not, I was told that a good friend of mine and myself were friends in Atlantis in a past life, we died in the flood together.

Whatever may be true about Atlantis, just remember you can't depend on science as we know it now in it's form today.

I believe Atlantis existed, at some point or another. As for it's disappearance, a number of things could have caused that. I mean, a new Hawaiian island appears every now and again, so why not?

I think Atlantis is real, I mean, think about it!!! Atlantis is about History.........and some people think History is boring, so WHY would they invent it! I think it could have been lost in the flood of Noah, and there is a Land filled with the descendants of Atlantis who survived, and I kind of think it is in the Australian Area, or maybe it was Antartica and in the Flood the water froze!!!!!
