Millie is quite correct. You are NOT being logged off. If you were logged off, your programs would have been shut down. Your system is set to auto lockout after a period of time. This is actually a VERY GOOD THING! If you walk away from your computer, nobody else will be able to get into your system!

However, if you want to change that behavior, do the following:

Right click on a blank spot on your desktop. Click Properties from the pop-up context menu to open the Display Properties dialogue box. Click on the Screen Saver tab. Uncheck the box marked "On resume, password protect" and click OK.

To shut your monitor off after a period of inactivity, or change the timing for that, go back to the Display Properties box. Click the Screen Saver tab. Click the Power button. Select your desired settings. Click OK. Click OK. Your're done!

In the control Panel, click on User Account, then "change the way users log on or off". If you are the only user of that PC, then no need for password security.

In the Power Options also in Control Panel, maybe the setting for inactivity is set to StandBy. Change this too

You're not being logged off. Your monitor turns off when not in use. You can change the amount of time before it does that, but keep in mind that's an energy saving feature of your computer. To change the time, click on Settings, then the display icon, click on the screen saver tab. About the middle of the window is the amount of time to wait before the energy saving feature is used. Increase it as far as you want.

Go into your control panel, select power options click on the Advanced tab and deselect "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby"

that should do it.
