They are the remnants of those black snake fireworks silly! When they burn they turn into long black snake like things...they are really only ash and break up into smaller pieces....remember the 4th of July is right around the corner and people have probably been using your driveway to celebrate a little early.

Horse Hair Worms- Horsehair worms are long, measuring from several inches to over 14 inches. They are quite thin, ranging from 1/25 inch to 1/16 inch wide (1 mm to 1.5 mm) and are uniform in diameter from front to back. They vary greatly in color from whitish to yellow/tan to brown/black. Horsehair worms are found on the ground or on plants, especially near water.

Depends on your area of the country. If you live in GA and it has recently rained, they are probably what the local call "rain worms". They usually emerge with spring rains.
Last year, we were inundated with rain and rain worms. They are harmless but do tend to pile up and start to stink as they decay.

Those are earthworms. They live in the soil, and come out on to the concrete when its wet. Eg, if it rains, or a sprinkler hits the driveway, you would see earthworms. They eat the dirt, I think.
