more than make your parents happy, study hard to make YOU happy.
I had similar issues in grade school and high school, but in college i studied HARD. I finished at the top of my class, but i had to pay for college myself.
I wish i had studied as dilligently in school because the scholarships i missed out on would be worth the price of a house today.
your financial success as an adult is tied to not being in debt from college, and you NEED college to get the life you will want. Take my word for it. The work pays off!
Teenagers need more sleep than adults. that is scientificaly proven. also the sleep patterns keep kids up later and sleep later. that makes it tough to get enough sleep which is important for concentration.
Make sure to always think positive happy thoughts. adopt the "can do" attitude when you are young and it will help protect you from depression when you are older. If you think that depression or ADD is a factor, by all means see a doctor, but try to work it out without the drugs. They have some very nasty side effects that you don't want to deal with.
What kids don't know is that success is better than makeup or muscles for getting a mate. looks aren't all that important in a couple of years, but your mind is.
Keep busy in many things. clubs, sports, etc. The more you do the more you want to do. limit your time on the computer and with video games. they suck the ambition out of you to excel to your best capability.
Good Luck!!! By asking this question, you already know you WANT to study harder. Now it's up to you to take it like a challange one week at a time ant it will go fast. you'll do great!

First of all you need your sleep. It is very hard to concentrate when you are tired. Second, you need a plan. Schedule a time for study and stick to it. It may be helpful to break down assignments into smaller pieces where you can take frequent short breaks. Just make sure you don't get distracted during breaks. Have someone prompt you to get back to your work if you need to. High School is about jumping through hoops to get to the next level. There are a lot of classes that aren't particularly interesting. But it is VERY important to do well and graduate. Do the best you can...I mean really put forth a good effort and your parents will probably be happy. At the end of it all, you have to be happy with yourself and be able to say that you did the very best you could regardless of the result.

Well, admitting that you need/want help with your situation is the first step-a positive step toward making a better person out of yourself. Maybe the problem is just what you said, you want to do it to make your parents happy. You have to want to do it for your happiness. If you have goals in life you want to achieve after graduation, now is the time to buckle down and do whatever it takes to bring those grades up to A's and B's instead of those C's. If you can make a C, you can make a B, and if you can make a B, you can bring that up to an A. It does take a lot of studying, but it's not hard to do if it's something you really want. You can do anything you put your mind to. Don't doubt yourself and feel blessed that you have parents that care about your progress in school. I went to college right after highschool because that's what my parents wanted me to do. I regret that and I ended up dropping out cause I was so unhappy. I wanted to join the Air Force, which I later did, but I felt like two years were taken from me cause I did what someone else had plans for me to do. Keep up the good attitude, and good luck the next two years! Study and work hard now, and you'll have plenty of time to play later. Just apply yourself more, AND GET RID OF THE LAZY'S!!! LOL

The best way to study is to follow this simple guide line. For every half hour of study take a ten to fifteen minute break . Example: If you are studding Math, study for a half hour. Then put it a way for at least one hour. Studies have shown that if you study for more than thirty minutes, that the information you learned within the first ten minutes is almost half forgotten. Do this system for every subject you have. This may seem to take for ever, especially if your studding for more than one or two subjects, but in return you won't get so tired and you will not get bored. WHY? Because you are doing your studies but yet every half hour you stopping to do something fun also.

I just Graduated from the 6th grade and I'm going to 7th and had the same problem and what made me want to get my homework finished was the thought of what my teacher will tell me the next day....or if I didn't study. So that made me want to get my work on time and study

Address the boredom to your parents. Try to get them talk to your school about giving you something more challenging.
Slackers in school exist usually because they aren't reenforced with the idea that school is important or because they aren't being challenged enough.
If procastination and napping are issues to your grades, it might be the classes are too low for your level.

Don't watch TV. Start one reading your subjects book every day. Gradually increase your reading time take notes while reading you like most. you should read everyday three hour every day. you should read one lesson all subject once you finished to read. Start over.
after few month you will use to it. you will enjoy it.
Practice makes man perfect.
