Nah, go for it. As long as you're getting it because you want it and not because you want to defy your parents' wishes (and it sounds like they're fine with this anyway) -- then just go for it.

P.S.
Just please don't get a tatto on your lower back, which is where almost everyone has it. Get it in a unique place and like someone said, where it can be concealed easily. Either by a little makeup or wearing a different shirt or pants.

YES its too young! I am so glad I didnt get a tattoo at 16.. wait til you are like 20-21, out of school and made a few decisions in life. Piercings can be removed and eventually heal up/go away, tattoos dont! So get it somewhere its easy to hide if you must. Tattoos are on your body for life- and the scarring if you have it removed is even worse and very expensive. If you still want the Exact same tattoo in a couple years then go for it, but if you change your mind wait another year. Your friends are gonna regret it when they are 25-30 and have kids who laugh at their stupid tattoos- Dont make the same misstake!

Yes, I think 16 is a little bit young. You're still growing into yourself at that age, and what you think is cool now might not seem so cool when you're older. I am so glad I never had the money for a tattoo when I was younger, because I'd probably be spending a lot of money having a big pot leaf being eaten by a catarpillar removed. Or a band of ants marching up my arm.

Plus, depending on where you live, it might be illegal for an artist to give you a tattoo. The one's who'll tattoo on minors usually aren't all that good.

I think it's best to wait. What you think is cool now may change next month. A tattoo is permanent, and there are a lot of things to consider before you get one. Why do you want one? What image are you going to get? Where are you going to place it? Will you be able to get a job with it ? (a lot of employers are still leary of visible tattoos) Can you handle the pain?- they do hurt, and don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.
My advice is to start thinking about these things now. If you still want one when you're 18, my advice would be to start with a small one, and get an image that means something to you. Then you'll need to start visiting shops and decide who is going to tattoo you. Don't decide by price!! Pick a reputable shop with experienced tattooists and MOST IMPORTANTLY a clean shop and sterile eqiupment.
I knew I wanted one at a young age, too. But I waited, and now I'm up to 14 (including full sleeves) and I don't regret any of them.

I recommand not even getting a tattoo, first its permanent, second when you age the tatto will age too and it will look horrible, third their are some health risks infections, Since tattoo instruments come in contact with blood and bodily fluids, diseases may be transmitted if the instruments are used on more than one person without being sterilized. However, infection from tattooing in clean and modern tattoo studios employing single-use needles is rare, allegeric reaction sAllergic reactions to tattoo pigments are uncommon except for certain brands of red and green. People who are sensitive or allergic to certain metals may react to pigments in the skin with swelling and/or itching, and/or oozing of clear fluid called sebum. Such reactions are quite rare, however, and most artists do not recommend a patch test prior to tattoing.
There is also a small risk of anaphylactic shock (hypersensitive reaction) in those who are susceptible.

Yes, I think you are too young to get a tattoo. I do not think anyone should get them, even men. The Lord said our bodies are temples and we are not supposed to mark or disfigure them in any way. Piercing is one thing, ears but other parts of the body is just not right. When you are an old woman what do you think you would look like with a tattoo then? They are not cool or pretty. They make girls look cheap. I would never let my daughter have one. She is 13 now and I hope and pray that she never gets one on her own. PLEASE DON"T DO IT. You will regret it one day. I know lots of people who have them and regret it now.

Your zodiac sign is a good idea for your first one especially at a young age. I got my first at 17 and it has to do with my zodiac sign. I thought the same thing as you...I will be a scorpio all my life. Just make sure you get it in a place that you can cover up easily. I got mine in between my shoulder blades.

My son just got one for his 16th birthday. My suggestion is get something you like or had meaning to you. Like people say there permant! Also if you do get one make sure to check out the place and make sure there a reputable place that uses sterile procedures. Expect to pay about 100 dollars an hour for a good tattoo. And yes they do hurt, dont let anyone tell you they dont. Its not unbearable but they do hurt. (i have 1 too) . And dont ever put neosporen on them, not a good thing!

I think you should wait till your body is done growing...
Your tattoo could end up stretching or fading or looking different when you get a little older...
I think you should wait till you are over 18 and legal age to get one...
You might change your mind by then...
Remember it is forever and if you want it removed it is more trouble than getting it in the first place...
Be very careful and please wait...
It is also painful so it depends on your tolerance to pain...

Of coz not..

16 isn't the right age for tattooing.. maybe piercing is ok.

I think most ppl here will recommend you to think about it when you're 21!

By then you are mature to think and of coz legal enough to do much more things =\

YES you are way to young to get a tattoo. They never go away. Take this from someone who has a friend with the name of their ex boyfriend on their back FOREVER.
