Depends on how old you are...NO its not corny---Why do you think they made so many movies out of it....
Also try nightmare on elm street

If you watch it late at night with all the lights off, and you are the only one home, then that is a very good movie to watch.
If you watch it during the day, it's corny. All horror movies are so goofy during the daytime.
Horror movies, darkness and just knowing that there's nobody to help you ( in case the killer comes out of your tv while you're asleep) go great together. So SLEEP WITH THE LIGHTS ON!!!!
Kevin Bacon's character gets killed too.

This film was the scariest thing around when it was made. If you are a first timer it will maybe give you the willies a little. But movies have come a long way since them.

It was scary the first time it was released. But if you are looking a made-for-tv scary movie I would recommend Evil Dead.

I think it's REALLY corny, especially when you compare it to hardcore horror films like "Ichi the Killer" or "Audition."
