i have been on the depo shot for almost 15 years. does anyone have any idea how long it would take for me to be able to concieve if i quit taking it? Does it have anything to do with the length of time i was on it?

The packaging for the Depo shot recommends that you do not even try to concieve for 18 months after your last shot. I found that out the hard way. Two miscarriages later they tell me. And that was my first depo shot. I dont know about long term usage. Good luck to you. I agree that your fertility will be individualized.

From what I understand, depo-provera has been blacklisted in some places due to the long term harmful side effect on the reproductive system. Technically you're supposed to wait 18 months to try to conceive, but as long as you've been on it I really would talk to the doctor first, and make sure everything is functioning normally.
