Luck for who? You or the fish? If you are keeping the fish in an aquarium for it's adequate adult size then it can be lucky for you both since both of you will be happy with the outcome. As for superstitions with fish, Koi didn't give the Japanese much luck during Hiroshima did they?

Lucky, perhaps, if you can properly house a 4ft+ monster who eats hundreds of pounds worth of food, needs a filter the soze of Wales and maintenece that would make Paris Hilton jealous...
