Okay. First of all, i was wondering how to do a back hand spring. my second question is that there is this flip that you do and i was wondering what its called. You start off by what looks like a cartwheel. Then you do the flips. anyone know what thats called?

The back handspring...First, start with your arms above your head, then bend your legs like you are sitting in a chair, while you are bending your legs, swing your arms down by your side. Then, jump backwards while swinging your arms back up to your head. Pretend that you are jumping to a handstand, then snap your feet to the ground and stand up. The other flip...the cartwheel looking thing is a round-off, basically a cartwheel ending with your feet together, followed by either a back handspring or different no-handed flips (back tucks, layouts, etc.)

I think you are talking about the round off back hand spring. A round off is basically a cartwheel, but you bring both feet together at the end. By doing this before your back hand spring, it will give you the momentum to throw your back hand spring, sine you already land on both feet coming out of a round off. First of all, Never attempt to do a back hand spring by yourself if you dont knwo what to do. Do it on a tampoline first, with a spotter behind you supporting your back. Put your feet together, bend your knees, with your arms extended straight out in front of you, and throw your head and body back while placing your hands on the ground behind you. Keep your feet/legs together. To sortof get the feel for it. Start by doing a back bend on the ground. Try to kick over, or have someone help you. Basically all a backhand srping is is that backbend kick over, but faster paced, and whipping both legs instead of one at a time. Good luck. and practice safe.

Just fling yourself back onto your hands as if you were going to do a backbend, then just keep your feet going. That thing is a round-off.
