go to tools, internet options and set it there

i'm not sure if i understand the question...but to make anything a "home page" ...click "tools" at upper left side of screen then "internet options". there is a place for "home page"...fill in url address or copy and paste it(.I use www.msn.com.) Then at bottom..click "apply". That should do it. Hope it works for you. (I have XP also). Happy internetting to ya! ^_~
