I absolutely LOVE being an elementary school teacher - I think it is amazingly cool. I bet I laugh more during my day than anyone in business or a corporate situation. One the other hand, this is what I want to do...there was no question about it in my mind and believe me, it is very challenging and there are days when you will want to crawl under the table with your kids ( or away from them) but at the end of the week you know you have made a difference...that's cool!
By the way...we are not glorified baby-sitters as the person above suggests...maybe that was their experience in school but I would dare that person to be a substitute for one day....guaranteed they couldn't do it! It's too bad that they never had a great teacher to inspire them.

I'll give you an honest answer, neither!! Being an elementary school teacher is a woman's job. The pay is not very good, you'll deal with annoying overprotective parents everyday, and everyone will think your gay because you work with little kids. Go to school, get a real major (maybe business), and shoot for a career that does not require you to be a glorified babysitter (that's what an elementary school teacher really is).

Knowing how kids are, never boring, but an excellent experience. You have to find the right school for yourself, though.

I think it would be cool because u could teach, have fun with students, and get the same amount of breaks as your children.

I think it would depend on how well you like kids. Teaching future adults is usually never boring.
