That makes sooo much sense! That is such a great point... yeah I'm gonna use it when I talk to my friend.
Ok so I was looking at everyone's responses and people are talking about believing abortion is wrong but we shouldn't do anything about it. I totally disagree! I mean if we just let it happen WE are the ones responsible for the murder of babies. I mean look at the holocaust. Tons of Jews were being killed everyday, but the US did nothing... until we were attacked. Now if we had stepped in and fought Germany right off, we could have saved lives. So is that person who said the government shouldn't get involved but believed murder is right doing the same thing as America during WWII?
Second, WHO CARES ABOUT HER SPELLING!!!! ITS A FREE COUNTRY AND IT'S OK TO USE U AND UR AND B/C WHEN YOU ARE RIGHTING A LOT... ALTHOUGH I PREFER NOT TOO. Sorry all those stupid answers by the pro-choicers made me sick! To think somone could kill a little baby like that is rediculous!
Now on the guy saying the girl might not have enough money to support a child... its called adoption and also if I don't have enough money could I kill my child because I couldn't support it? NO.
Oh and don't worry your not forcing beliefs on anyone... some people just want to cover up the fact that they're wrong.

Do not in any way justify or appoligize for being Catholic. Those Christians and non-christians who put you down for being Catholic are no better than the Islamo-Terrorist who want the world under Islamic rule.

I am Catholic and agree fully with you.

Removal of prayer from the schools, then Roe vs. Wade were the first steps in the God Hating Liberals agenda to remove all Judeo-Christian beliefs. These beliefs are a large part of what makes Humans civilized.

When I grew up the Ten Commandants was the Laws to live by. If you lived by the Ten Commandants you would also live by all the man made laws, cause they were all based on the Ten Commandants.

By removing all these belief system, people start living by what they want. Right or wrong isn't important, just do what you want as long as it makes you happy. This is the first stage of anarchy. Once anarchy takes hold then the Liberals have all the reason to do away with the Constitution and impose terranical rule over the people.

There needs to be one other thing to make this happen. The Dumbing Down Of America. This is done through the Schools. By not educating the children, they grow up unable to read or understand what they do read. They also don't learn logic, which is needed to weight both sides of an issue and choose what you believe is correct. Today most young people can only express the Dribble they heard or hear from their Liberal teachers. If you have doubts, read the answers to AlGore's question.

The difference between the two examples you cite is that legal abortions are done as a choice by the mother, while the case where mother and child are killed in a car crash caused by another person is that no choice was involved.

I'm not Catholic but I still strongly believe that abortion by choice is morally wrong. As you say, it's still the taking of a human life, no matter how much those favoring abortion try to argue otherwise. Even if you don't consider the taking of a human life by itself as being wrong, then the waste of potential is. For instance, how many Einsteins and Mozarts and Martin Luther Kings have been slaughtered since Roe vs Wade?

in abortion it mostly is done in the first term as women don't really know when they got pregnant. in the courts, the mother wanted the child and there hasn't been a case of anyone getting charged with both if there was no proof of knowledge by the mothers family she was pregnant. there never has been a case on it yet, but if a woman is on her way to a abortion clinic and gets killed in a accident, is it a double murder? doctors are allowed under the law to end life as its each persons right such as in the first term of a pregnancy after its known, a person diying that is terminally ill can legally have the doctors pull the plug. if a child or a woman is raped then i can understand them wanting the abortion. but for the women that can't keep their legs closed, then they should keep the baby as they didn't use protection.

Well the two counts for murder will probably vary state by state as some states will charge the death of a fetus as murder, etc.

But since I'm pro-choice, let's assume that abortion is killing of a human life.

In a car accident, killing a pregnant mother, first you'd probably get manslaughter as it wasn't premeditated or intended. In either case, murder or manslaughter, the defendent has shown negligence for human life (just the mother's or both baby and mother, your pick).

In abortion, there really is no proof of negligence. You can't prove someone neglected to care about someone else, where as you can prove that a driver was driving too fast, not paying attention to the road, etc.

I agreed with you since I'm a Catholic too. This is one of the questions that might be answered in long time. From what I think, abortion is one of the "death penalties" for a person who is responsible for aborting her own child. Its very difficult for a mother to live with. I don't blame the mothers. But at least there are people, who are praying for those who have to live with terrible regret/truth and those who haven't born.

I'm Christian as well, but I'm pro-choice. I agree that the law is unfairly inconsistent in the way you mentioned, but I feel it should be made so a pregnant woman is counted as one life, not two.

Just because a certain group of people think it is wrong doesn't mean that countless others who strongly believe in it should have to be denied the unarguably life-altering procedure. How would you like it if our country was suddenly taken over by a religious group that didn't permit women to leave the house, or a religious group that believed in human sacrifice, and they forced their ideals to be carried out? If we want our beliefs to be tolerated, we have to tolerate everyone else's.

What is the difference in your stance on abortion being wrong because it purposely takes a human life and Catholic women are dying of AIDS because they are told to forgive their cheating husbands and still have sex without protection? Is that not a form of suicide? How is that fair to any young children left motherless? Or, is it okay because the priests, bishops and Pope said it was?

ok, but what if your father rapes you and the child would be your daughter/sister, should you be forced by law to have it??

what if you are 10 yrs old and raped, having the baby could damage your body, meaning that you also might die, should the government force you to possibly die to have this child that you didnt ask for?

There are just too many reasons. Plus there would still be women out there that would try to self-abort and accidentally kill themselves.

thats a really good question. a lot to think about. i'm still for abortion tho. its an idividual's choice. by allowing it, anyone can have one, but at the same time, if you are against it, then dont get it urself. that way everyone wins.
if we aren't allowed to force things like religion or gayness onto other people, then why is it ok to force this opinion of abortion onto other people. i mean, whether or not abortion is ok is a personal opinion. if you dont agree with it, then dont have one. just because YOU dont beleive it is ok, doesnt mean the next person thinks the same way. so by not allowing anyone to have an abortion just bc thats what YOU think, you are forcing your way upon others.
