It's one thing to use the new 'style' of 'talking' but doing that you can still spell words correctly and use the words in a comprehensible sentence.

The people who do not know how to spell, use proper grammar, and/or make a complete sentence are one of the following two: a teenager or someone who thinks they are "ghetto"/"cool". Teenagers, mostly the 12 to 16 year olds think they are "hip" or whatnot when they talk the way they talk. Three-Fourths of what they are saying do not make any sense. I have to struggle just to concentrate on what theyre saying because they leave out important key words (that make a sentece a sentence) and/or they make run off sentences. It's really annoying and they need to go to an English class now and again to learn how to spell and write better. I am 17, but I never use the "chat" lingo, unless I'm talking to a friend on messenger and it's just words like "ttul" (talk to you later) or "w/e" (whatever).

To answer your question with a question, when was the last time you attended a high school or for that matter listened to the current popular music? The current trend of the entertainment world has caused people to reject education. Just look at the new reports today, the use of what I like to call the $.50 words have been replaced by the $.01 words that everyone can understand. Also another reason is that the legal citizens of the United States of America have not chosen an official language.

Finally someone I can talk like a normal human with. I don't know why people use such poor English on here. It is really hard to read what most say. I know how you feel. I was yelling at my brother today because he kept saying 'ain't' and that is one of my pet peeves.

I don't know, but I wish people would stop it and spell right or at least to the point we can read it. I have a headache from the last question I just read. Lord know I can't spell and I am always in a hurry. I just stop and use spell check. I guess they really don't know how to spell or talk???

Yeah I know. It's like this sentence "F U Cn Rd Ths Thn U Cnt Spl Wrth a Dmn" I think that it's just because some people are lazy. I mean yeah a mistake or two is okay but dang, enough is enough. Know what I mean?

Good question. This habit annoys me as well since it's hard to decipher what the person's talking about. It almost makes me wish I had a dictionary to refer to.

I think it's because they're too lazy to spell out the words properly. Either that or they just don't know proper English. (I tend to think it's the former.)

While I would give some latitude to those for whom English is a 2nd language, they could still use the spell check!

I agree with you that people should answer with more thought. But however two factors come into play, one is laziness and two well there are lots of minors in here who can barely spell.

I wondered that, too. Maybe not everybody on here speaks English? I would probably sound like an idiot, too, if I tried to answer or ask questions in another language.

They are either lazy, or they just want to. Does it actually matter, as long as people can understand what it says?
