He's a patsy indeed and his overthrow and demise are purely a result of rampant American paronoia. It will acheive nothing in the end other than to show America in its true light. This was a good question, thanks. Jules, lecturer. Australia.

My friend you are misguided. When the united states was started over 200 years ago how many people did we test our bombs on in our on country NONE. We did fight the Indians yes but it was to make a better way of life for everyone. was Husein doing it for a better country NO he was doing it for greed and power. He had thousands of his own people killed just to test bombs and this was not back 100 years ago this was in the pass 20 years Saddam is a modern day Hitler and should be treated like one.

Murdering people is wrong, and yes our past is full of difficulty's, however hopefully we have learned from our mistakes and will leave them in the past where they belong, and Sadam Husein was offered multiple, multiple chances to lower his posture in which he was displaying, and stand down.
Had he done that, I am sure good, bad, or indifferent he would still be the leader of his country today.
He did not, he stood in defiance, and ended up hiding in a bunker.
I would say that his outcome is the results of his own actions, or the lack of the appropriate ones.
There is an old saying that hind sight is 20/20, however our future is what you and I make it, and it is not helpful to look for excuses for the actions of others by dredging up mistakes from the past to justify them, as two wrongs do not make one right, it only makes two wrongs.

Saddam was not a symbol of Islam in any way. Saddam put down Islamic uprising in his own country because they threatened his power. He led his nation in a war against Iran, the local Theocracy, for around a decade. Saddam was a ruthless, wily warlord who ruled as a greedy dictator. We have surely committed our fair share of sins in America, but we did not crush the poor beneath our feet for the ruler and his family to live in opulent luxury. Most of Bush's reasons for invading Iraq were lies. Saddam did not harbor Al-quida, did not have anything to do with 9/11, and had negligible weapons of mass destruction, and posed no real threat to America. Bush had a personal debt to Saddam. Saddam had once paid a contract killer to try to assassinate Bush Sr. The Middle East is still a better place now that Saddam is gone, despite the lies that took us there. He has been deposed and Iraq is reforming itself as a democratic nation. This is an improvement. We will have to stay until they are capable of defending themselves.

Have you been hiding under a rock dude? Saddam Hussein was by far one of the worst evil dictators who ever lived. He killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi people for no reason at all.
By the way, are you a member of his former regime who is trying to cover up his tracks? Can you say DUH??
I bet you also think that President Bush is the real terrorist? Tell me something, has President Bush ever killed thousands of people by planning to fly airliners into the World Trade Center or the Pentagon. How about that field in Pennsylvania?
IDIOT!!!!!

Saddam Lovers need to be shipped to an island with him, and all his followers. Let's see how many of you Saddam lovers are left alive or have any control. I give you 10 minutes. Mainly to realize how stupid you are and then head for the ocean and start swimming. He would have everyone of you americans who love him so much killed. You are idiots to ever believe he should of been left in power. Grow up and stop thinking the world is all flowers and lolly pops everywhere else but here. Bush isn't the best leader, but America is the best country. We learn from our mistakes and grow. I don't see Iran, China http://www.webspawner.com/users/blue91/ Or many other countries trying to grow up. Quit loving the rest of the world morons and love your own country. OR BETTER YET LEAVE IF YOU DON"T LOVE IT. Good Riddance.

"At one time or another" doesn't make it right. Just because our forefathers tortured and killed **Native Americans** and black slaves does not make it ok for Hussein to do it now!
Make no mistake--I oppose the war in Iraq. It was only started to raise Bush's approval rating in the polls before the 2004 election, since he couldn't catch Bin Laden. But the loss of Hussein will not be a detriment to Iraq or any other part of the world.

Way to hit the nail on the head. America hates Islam so much that we invaded one of the most secular middle eastern countries in existence. I'm glad you thought that question the whole way through.
("We" killed Indians? Do you mean Native Americans? If so, speak for yourself. I wasn't involved with it...)

America never gassed our own people, Saddam did. America does and didn't have rape rooms nor mass graves for our own people.
Give America has done some pretty shitty stuff in the past, but hey, that's just the cost of doing business with us.
Don't like it? Get out of America.
