In modern times, most people proclaim any of David Lynch's films (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead, The Elephant Man) as being the best. He is seen by many as the greatest living filmmaker.
However if you go back to black and white times, the movie "Psycho" by Alfred Hitchcock has influenced many other movies, and still stands up as being thrilling to this day.

I think the , "BACK TO THE FUTURE" movie series was the best. Exciting, action pack, scientific, funny, kept me interested and still does . I bought the trilogy.

The best movie ever made is hands down, no argument, agreed upon by critics everywhere: "Citizen Kane."
My favorite however is "Apocalypse Now."
