So how come with all the flooding going on in the Northeast, why haven't we seen mass looting. Dead bodies laying in the streets and people packed into the local shelter having to deal with rapes and murder. Maybe because most of the problems New Orleans had was due to poor leaders. NO NOT BUSH. MR. Chocolate Town mayor himself RAY. The Governer of the State and other corrupt politicians down there *COUGH * Jefferson. Come on PRESS make the Northeast sound as bad as New Orleans. You can't. Because apparently NEW YORK has good politicians leading them. Interesting.

It's not entirely about politicians, though I agree that they do play a role. First of all, the majority of people affected by hurricane Katrina were poor and black. What is the race and economic status of most of the flood victims? Many of the people in New Orleans could not afford or didn't have opportunity to leave town. It is much easier to escape a flood than 100+ winds, flying debris, combined with flooding. I agree that Mayor Nagin should have done more to help people evacuate, but hindsight is always 20/20. I don't think he had any malacious plans, but he certainly didn't handle the situation properly. It is not a north vs. south thing so let's not make it about that. We are all citizens of the same country. Let's focus on helping those in need and not making controversy and comparisons where they are not needed.

mostly as its concentrated area's and the flooding is limited to area's not wiping out four states with millions of people out from the hurricanes. the storms caused flooding you could see. you didn't have cat 5 hurricanes with killer winds destroying everything in its path. their is some looting in your area, as in all area's. it wasn't on film 24/7 to see it. the government from all levels to the president were unprepared for such a disaster and no one can really plan for something they don't know how it will be done. the worst thing which was caught on by the media was the chicken s*** cops that stole cars from the cadilac dealer and most of the force ran away. new york is very condensed area. with the twin towers disaster, you had the close area's to help out. let a cat 5 hurricane hit new york and it would be 10 times worse than the south as its to concentrated and 18 million people would have to get out. it was hit by storms in the 1800's and wiped it out.

I'm not sure about the looters; but I'm sure Bush must have peed in a rain cloud or something to cause all that flooding?
