Sea horses are two sexes just like most other creatures.. The male carries the females eggs and fertilises them. They then leave the male and swim away when they are born. They are not cared for by male or female. Snails on the other hand, are called hermaphrodites. They are not male and female. They are in fact both. After sex, they both part and go their separate ways, Both of them have young after this encounter.

Now not definite why, but here is a link that would support. The female deposits the eggs into the male which is how he fertilizes the eggs is the exceptional explanation I observed. Excellent good fortune.

Male. Isn't that strange? The female has the eggs fertilized in her body, but then hands them off to the male.
