Don't carry yourself like a "young pretty girl" be a young pretty self confident woman, if someone makes an inappropriate comment in front of everyone I would give him a look that would send daggers through his heart to let him know I'm not playing games with him and if he gets you alone and make a comment I would tell him I don't appreciate him treating me like anything other than a fellow employee. do your job and do it well and they cannot fire you because you don't smile and act like a hoochie.but always remember there's no amount of money to buy your dignity. tell your boss in a respectable manner that you like your job and you want to learn and grow and work for him but if he and the other men there are making you feel uncomfortable with the comments. you have to decide if you are going to ignore the comments or deal with them. i work in a hospital as a LPN and a male RN talked down to me because he felt I was beneath him so I invited my husband who is 6 feet tall 240 pounds of muscle to have lunch with me and i never had any more trouble

Tell him that the way he talks to you makes you uncomfortable. Be specific. Maybe dress down a bit if you have to. COvering up a bit. Not showing too many curves and all. Maybe also just realize that men notice pretty females more than usual this time of year and if the atention is polite and safe maybe hust try to enjoy it if you can. Just translate into girl language, "nice ****" translates to "you look pretty today", etc.

Unfortunately, because you are young and pretty, you are going to get harassed!! sorry! JUST KEEP A JOURNAL!!!Write the time and date and what was basically said to you...After you get 10-20 of these statements...go to the Human Resources dept...or contact an attorney!!! They will advise you as to what to do!!! Tell you boss...."I feel uncomfortable with the way you talk to me.." then just walk away!!!

See your shop steward or speak to someone at the local job centre, If you do wish to talk to your boss take another member of staff with you but be firm and don't let them try to turn it into a joke. Also make a note of who said what in case you need the information later. Good luck

Sexual harassment in the workplace occurs in two forms.
In the "hostile work environment", there are either severe or pervasive incidents which interfere with your work performance or create an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment. (This sounds like you.)
In "quid pro quo", you are pressured for sexual favors in return for compensation, job duties, or continued employment.
Both of these situations are very serious, and your employer *must* act to correct them if you complain. If they don't, you have very good merits for a lawsuit.
All that being said, just asking the offending invidual(s) to stop is a good first step. They me think they are being cute, and honestly not realize they are being obnoxious and/or making you uncomfortable.
Good luck.

You should tell him in a nice respectable way. Tell him very clearly that the way he talks to you makes you feel uncomfortable and cite some specific instances. You should try not to make it a huge public event, but I wouldn't recommend doing it alone in is office (no witnesses). If you feel like he isn't changing satisfactorily then you should speak to his boss, the company EO rep, or a complaint division.

Don't let the men scare you off! You have to be hard core and just tell your boss how you feel. I don't think you'll get fired for it. Just say hey, I don't like the way you talk to me and I'm asking the best way I know how, please stop. Women have to put up with alot of crap from men so just try giving them some of their own medicine.

Be like, " Look I enjoy working here and would like to continue to but I have a problem with the way you speak to me, I'm asking you nicely to lighten up a bit, I'm not looking for trouble, but I just wanted to let you know how I feel because it bothers me." Gurl something like, really and truthfully I would of told him off, but since you seem noce and want to keep your job you should put it on the nice side.

Always laugh it off. Never take those personal comments seriously. The older you are the better you can handle it. Just keep smiling and doing your job. Ignore them.

Ask to see him because you have a problem you need help with. At the meeting, tell him you are struggling to maitain a professional image in the workplace, your career is important to you, as is your professional image. Don't accuse him of wrongdoing, don't report him to to his boss, but try to resolve it one on one. Tell him how you fell when he speaks to you in this way. I makes you feel uncomfortable.
If it doesn't stop, you will have to take it a step further.
