I think any/every culture is/can be racist. But I think Americans are the worst since they're the super power and they can be racist without getting killed by other countries. What I mean is America can be racist about most other countries and the other countries are powerless.
But also, everyone might think they are since of their history of being highly racist and now, everyone is pinning it against them. For example, when an American is racist against a black person, it's okay for them to get mad but when a black person is racist towards an American, it's not really all that right to be mad. I personally think it works both ways and both have the right to be angry, but others don't because of America's history and no one ever considers them the victim. This may be why one may think they are generally racist

I think most Americans possess a certain attitude that says, "I'm an American and you can't do that to me. I have rights." I've seen this many of times while visiting foreign countries. They're often called, "Ugly Americans." As an American, I can say this because I've seen it. In general are we as Americans racist? As much as I would like to say that we're not, sometimes I think we are. We're called the United States of America. United. Meaning we are together, cohesive. Unfortunately we are not all cohesive or united. We are indeed divided by ethnicity, religion, sexual preference, social class, educational levels, and a whole host of other things.

Isn't asking if Americans are all racists being somewhat racist, in stereotyping Americans? But seriously, I think it's hard to say-- we are very often considered rude to other cultures, and ignorant of other cultures. Given the U.S.'s 'superpower' status, U.S. citizens often think too highly of the American way over all other methods. But, let's hope with maturity and a more globalized world, that changes for the better!

I wouldn't use the term racist. I don't it's reached that level yet. There is definetely some racial tension in certain aspects of American culture. The blacks are always complaining about being under-represented in the work force and the Mexicans aren't getting paid enough to do the manual labor jobs. Asians are always discriminated against for being too damn smart.

rac·ism (rszm) KEY

NOUN:

The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

In answer to your question, no more than any other country and alot less than some. We are more opinated but hey so is Europe and some other countries. We do not turn down our noses at people from other countries, but judge them by their actions. Where as other countries are prejudice/racial against anyone American. We do not go around murder hundreds of thousands of people because they have a different skin color or a different belief. We leave that for the rest of the world to do.

All humans are racists including americans. You can just count the USA though. Look what happneded in Germany in the 1940s, Coratia, Rowanda and what is happening in Dubai right now. At least in the US we don't have civil war to wipe out an entire race.

We are all racist because America is a country of all nations and cultures and races. It is a difficult situation. We all have to live with each others differences, but no one wants to. It still beats living in a place like Iraq.

Many people are prejudice. I will get into why that is in a minute.

Racist is a word to scientifically describe sub-shapes of one species. For example, dogs are one species, but they come a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Those are call the different racists of dogs.

Unfortunately news and writers keep making this same mistake.

How people become prejudice

My best friend was jewish. I was not. We were both age 7.
Neither of us discussed religion.
We went every where together.
We were best friends.
One day, when I came over to his house (he was then age 12), his mother met me at the door and told me to never come over again! No reason, just do not come back.
I went home in shock. Aparently I had something wrong. But I did not know what!
My mother called them, they hung up on her. My parents walked down the street to their house, they would not answer the door; told them thru the door - go away!
I was even more upset.
When my friend turned 13, we found out; he was jewish. And when children of jewish children turn age 13, the children are only allowed to have friends with other children who practice judism.

That left me hurt and bitter. From then I have developed a strong dislike for people who practice the jewish faith. My sister went thru the same thing with two girls, sisters, that were her best friends. Again, bam! One turned age 12, she was not allowed to come over again. No reason, no explanation, nothing! She also has bitter feelings against parents who are jewish.

My parents confronted my best friend's parents in a grocery store a few years later after my friend never saw me again. His parents tried to leave the store quickly. My mother and father would not let them leave without an explanation. Finally the mother of my friend yelled; because you are NOT jewish! Our religion does not allow him to make friends with anyone who is NOT Jewish. My mother asked them; what about the 5 years the two of them were friends.

Their answer? Our son was NEVER friends with your son. And they stormed out of the store.

No. We do have racist. We have some of every tribe on earth. But we give more food , water and clothing and money to needy people all over the world that the entire rest of the world put together. That makes us hated by everyone. We give abundantly to our enemies-go figure.
