First of all, it is a matter of choice. (not sure what is meant by "more sanitary)
Hurt? Depends on your pain level. Actually, I have a very high pain tolerance and I think that Brazilians burn. The burn is only momentary. If you have a good professional waxer, she will know how to ease that feeling on you.
I do these for a living. I did three today. My clients come back every four weeks. The more you get it done, the less uncomfortable it is.
There is NOTHING like going with a Brazilian. No itching when it grows back and it feels wonderful the whole time.

Brazilian wax is not painful.....i prefer wax. you just need to do it once in a month.
