i really cant beleive so many people think this was a well reffed game. Maybe i was watching a different game but micheal ballaks clear handball in the area would have been the winning goal had they called it. That isnt even the beginning of it tho. We now have people from other countries calling the Argentine team dirty because we had about twice as many fouls as germany. These people are ignorant tho because of the 14 times argentina was in the german half on offense while the score was 1-0, 12 of these times Argentina was called for a phantom foul that didnt exist which caused their counter attack to come to a hault and gave the ball back to germany.
Another thing that angers me is that people are calling argentina crybaby fakers and dirty players. Obviously you were watching a different game. You see soccer is this sport where u kick the ball. You were probably watching a baseball game. Germany were by far the biggest actors and dirtiest players in todays game. The first half their longballs were completely shut down by the argentine defence, but in the second half, the germans started diving every time they lost the ball. Go watch the game again and u will notice the insane amount of times the germans did it. Whereas almost everytime the argentines hit the floor it was a legitimate foul. By the way the goal Germany scored was during one of these recovered lost balls due to dives. Also when u go and watch the game again, count how many times riquelme and tevez were kicked by the germans with no foul given. Just so you people know you don't need to fall for it to be a foul. This seems to be a common mistake from people who know nothing about football so im making it clear to you naysayers. Then you ask why argentina sometimes embelishes a foul? Germany played some of the dirtiest soccer i have ever seen today, and apperently you people who are saying germany is clean and argentina are dirty havent seen enough football in your lifetimes to know what to look for. The play where Tevez ended up with a bloody nose comes to mind. He gets kicked by 3 different players from behind before he finally falls and then gets kneed in the face by the fourth german player to hit him (no foul was called).

adult males i became finding for some thing like that post. i'm an excellent exciting of Argentina regardless of the incontrovertible fact that i'm from Greece, or perhaps while Greece performed against Argentina in ninety 4' i supported Args. yet i should be purpose right here. What shocked me became not that referee sided with Germany (we've been all waiting for that), yet that as quickly as Germany scored, he continued enjoying 50-50 like not something has happened. that's the definition of bias. The referee became in a position to confirm each factor that became occurring interior the sector, and became identifying while to help Germany, whilst being carefull to not electrify the completed result. even nonetheless every physique that has performed soccer has seen that Argentina consistently tries to play the perfect soccer different than kicking the ball from protection waiting for some attacker to push the ball to the purpose ( :<) eg. Greece). and that i will't have confidence how some persons are happy with the soccer that some communities play (eg. Germany regulations...) probable they have by no ability performed this sport. even nonetheless i think of that mundial is transforming into greater n' greater commercial loosing this is experience. Sorry for asserting to lots.. some thing final for this Cup: did you recognize that the respected mundial balls are being made by ability of <10 12 months old childrens and an excellent kind of of them whilst sawing the balls cut back their arms? If this suggests some thing for you attempt to discover what's the FIFA answer (?) Thanx the guy for began that post.

Yeah, Im really dissapointed with that, that it comes down to games being fixed....Argentina played much better and its a shame that such an average team like Germany wins with penalties. Argentina deserved to go further. The Germans have a bad attitude when they play and their sportsmanship is horrible. Good luck Germany cause you´ll need it!!! And make sure you leave your tips to the refs at the end of the game!!

I am not sure about that these refs are supposed to be impartial unless Diego Maradona was doing the paying. Maybe Maradona offered some coke or the ref wanted to even the match since one side was comfortable at home. He did an good job from what I heard

I agree with you completly!!! I don't know why referees are hired from either one of the playing countries that's asking for favoritism and bias!! If you ask me my favorite for the World Cup is Italy. But I think some of the referees in various games need to be fired. They are completly bias and they need to just let the teams play fairly and win on their own accord. That's what it's all about right???

My personal opinion: the referee wasn't openly partial to Germany. They got their yellow cards and were punished for their fouls. What I really can't understand, however, is how he let it go when the German player kicked the Argentinian goalie in the stomach, and the goalie had to be replaced. I'm not saying the German player did that on purpose, but still... wasn't that foul?

Come on...
The ref gave Podolski (from Germany) a yellow card near the beginning. That's a dangerous deal for Germany, so the ref wasn't exactly partial to them.
Argentina lost...I"m sorry, but that's the way it is.

I'm a fan of Argentina too and it is a shame that they have to go home, but it was a good overall game.
We'll have our chance in another 4 years.
Stop making excuses because they lost.
