I say the war on poverty, because this failure also leads to the failure on drugs (i.e. poverty increases the chance of getting involved with drugs). Poverty also leads to crime, and believe it or not terrorist activities. If the world had a level playing field (i.e. fewer inequities between nations), there would be much less terrorism, and much, much less support for it. Poverty leads to many of the other problems facing the world and until it is better addressed, we will be dealing with all it's side effects.

War on terrorism is too recent. Crime has dropped in some areas so not war on crime. There is no real war on poverty since poverty benefits the rich, who contribute to politicians. So the answer is war on drugs. I belive this started during the reagan years. Here are the reasons: 1 The us has spent billions on "combating" drugs 2 while corruption within law enforcement has spiraled. 3 people can go to prison and take up space for having small amounts of pot when they're not even violent people 4 drug dealers will always be replace by younger dealer 5 doesn't cure addiction medically or psychologically 6 there are better alternatives

The last (1905) U.N. Report on Human Development says, the most glaring thing about the report, is the fact people who live in the developed world are dying from diseases related to over-eating; while those living in developing countries, die from mal-nutrition and related diseases. (IN THE MILLIONS)

It is self-evident therefore, why great folks like Sir Bob Geldorf, Melinda and Bill Gates, have lasered in on such monumental human catastrophes, and "Make Poverty History" has been popularized.

Your question, therefore, based on the harsh FACTS - without ideology, dogma or sentimentality, is a no-brainer. There's absolutely no greater failure today, than the so-called war on poverty.

And what accentuates this failure, is the fact we live in a world of 6.5 billion, with enough goods and services for its entire population - to meet everyone's INALIENABLE fundamental human rights and freedoms - PLUS a 10% surplus PER CAPITA.

And we have the GALL to call ourselves men!!!

That's a tough one! Well the war on drugs in definitely a failure, and the war on poverty - I see a bumb around every corner. The bumbs are probably on drugs too. And as far as the war on terrorism, parts of it are just adding fuel to the fire! So it is a toss up.

I have never heard about any government trying to stop poverty. If they did, then maybe there wouldn't be so much crime, drugs or terrorism. Because when you are poor, I mean so poor that you have no food, no place to call a home, then you do stupid stuff to survive. You steal, kill, whatever it takes, to get a little relief from the pain in your life. You do drugs and drink to cloud the life you have to live. You commit acts of terrorism, because you would rather be dead than continue to live like you are. And if you get caught and go to jail, you have a home, food, medicine. You have everything that you couldn't provide for yourself. So where do you think we need to start?

I think the war on poverty has been the biggest failure. I also think that poverty contributes to crime and drug use.

Its War on poverty, because all the things that you mentioned on your question are all caused by poverty,so if that can be sorted out then our world would definately be a better place to live in..

War on drugs. If that would have been a success, it would have eliminated alot of the crime and poverty.
Too early to say on the war on terror.
Interesting question.
