I certenly don't like McCain and I don't think Jeb Bush would stand a chance because too many people would cry Dynasty. I have alway been a fan of Steve Forbes but I'm not sure he would be able to campaign well enough. Does anyone have any good ideas?

The ideal "ticket" would be Rudi Guiliani and Condi Rice as VP; now the right side of the Republican Party may never let this happen, but if they want to beat Hillary this is what it will take.

Think it through;
NY and California are the biggest electoral vote states and the Democrats own them without spending a dime on keeping them. Rudi would put NY into play, and to a smaller extent Condi (from California) puts it into play. The DNC will waste $25 to $40 million just protecting its base.

What else; the womens vote is divided and more people are going to be willing to put a woman in the VP seat then the Presidency the first time.

And...the black vote which was 95% Democrat in the last few elections gets all torn up as they see a successful Black Woman on the ticket - for the Republicans.

Hard to imagine another republican (well, the current bunch aren't real republicans, but you get the idea) administration after the mess they put the country in now, and it'll only get worse, but then again I said that in 2000. Guess it all comes down to how many rigged electronic voting machines the republicans can cram into the red states next time around.

Whoever they do run in '08, they'll have to distance themselves from Bush/Cheney..support from those 2 will be a political kiss of death.

Still hoping for Mitt Romney the Mass. Governor. I agree that Jeb won't make it and he still says he won't run which is a pity since he was selected best Governor in the Nation! But Romney works well with fellow party members and has been able to pass quite a few great programs with a democrat control state legislature.

McCain is too moderate for the right wing religious Republican Party at the moment.....although McCain was hanging out with Jerry Falwell....trying to get in bed to suck up to the religious right.

The time is right for a Democrat to put things back to normal....the Clinton years were very good for America......low unemployment, high government surplus....andthe Republicans were after his a** because of Monica.....big deal.....Bill screwed Monica....WOW....Bush has screwed an entire country!
