Firefox is great.

As somebody else pointed out, it doesn't do a good job of ActiveX, but Firefox has a plugin that enables you to use the IE rendering engine already installed on your system within a Firefox tab. So Firefox gives you the best of both worlds.

Almost every page I go to works great in Firefox. When one doesn't, I right-click and select "View in IE tab" and then it still works great while still giving me all the Firefox benefits. I can even mark a URL with the plugin so that it always automatically comes up in an IE tab.

There are so many plugis available for Firefox that you can make it do just about anything.

While a few security issues have popped up, they have also been quickly patched - and there haven't been anywhere near as many as IE has. Not even in the same ballpark.

Firefox all the way.

information superhighway Explorer is robust. Works properly with maximum content cloth. (There must be human beings on right here which will in the present day commence hating information superhighway Explorer no count what.) Opera is merely too. enjoyed the UI for years. seems very clean. different browser ultimately caught up. might like slightly greater administration over some innovations. Firefox is high quality. Have had slightly difficulty showing pages wisely. there is likewise Avant Browser, yet i've got by no ability used it. meant to be based off of information superhighway Explorer.

A few comments about IE & Firefox

Firefox has a few nice features like tabbed browsing where you can flip back & forth between web sites.

It was said to be more secure then IE but as it's popularity increased it's security flaws started to surface.

It is a bit faster at rendering web pages but it's main drawback is that it doesn't support Active X. That means many web pages will not display properly.

That is why I pretty well quit using it. You can get it free and have both browsers on your system if you want to try it.

Internet Explorer 6. Download all the updates from Microsoft Update (www.update.microsoft.com) first. Mozilla is ok, but you have to manually install all the plugins and extensions. Do not install the Internet Explorer 7 Beta. It is messed up, and can conflict if you have a Symantec program like Norton on your computer.

Dunno if there's such a thing as a perfect browser (just like 'perfect software'), but a lot of people seem to like Mozilla Firefox.
