I would like too join the society that is called the Freemasons, or too come the Masons. If anyone has ever heard of the Masonic Homes, or lodges they know what I'm talking about.

I have a nephew in the S. Florida Area who is a Mason. It is a good organization. You have to be invited, as I understand it, but after meeting some folks, I am sure you'll find yourself welcomed. I am not a Mason, but my dad was. Since the great numbers of WWII vets came through the Masons, the ranks have thinned a lot. You can contact me throgh my website if you like. I'll try to get your email to my nephew. I am in Nj. I also am listing the site for Florida.

Some obvious misinformation about the Masons in some posts here. There are clear non-mason histories that clear a lot of this up. Most of the bad press came from a man in the late 1800's who was "blackballed" and began writing things to defame the organization. A lot of the lies stuck and became part of religious dogma against the Masons. Too bad. The Catholic corollary is The Knights of Columbus (also a great organization). The Masons do not require any religious affirmation except that you profess to believe in one God.

I would suggest you do some serious research on the Masons before you join. They are a very special group with strong and binding requirements. Look carefully before you leap.

If you are a Catholic, please remember that 8 Popes have condemned this organization. In 1985, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops stated that one could not be a Catholic and a Freemason.

The Shriners, who are Masons, do trememdous charitable work at Shriner's Hospitals throughout the world. However, I do not feel that their charitable work outweighs the personal risk associated with becoming a member of the Masons.

You don't "join". You ask a Mason to become a Mason and he sponsors you. Do you know any?

You have to be sponsored. Did you know that the Shriner's are a elite part of the masons?

If you know someone that is a Mason, ask them to petition for you.
You cannot just apply.

You can't join them you have to know a member first then if they consider you "worthy" they will invite you to join. That's the rumor.

You have to be invited by one of their members.
You can't enroll on your own.
