not google earth or virtual are doing it for me...any help appreciated

yahoo local will work for that. just type in the address and you can zoom in and out. if that doesn't work try mapquest.

google earth - simple as that. Download and install from here http://earth.google.com/ and you are able to view the whole world from any angle let alone UK. For UK maps go to multimap (just type in search engine) Hope this helps :)
Dohh!! didn't see the google earth reference u made: when u say it is not doing it for you what exactly do you mean?? I can point u in the right direction of a good video tutorial for google earth if that is any help; just post or email back

Try Google Local. Or Microsoft Live! Local, Mapquest, or Yahoo! Local. I think she wants something thats NOT a satellite image.
