I have always liked brown and black together. In fact, my favorite shoes of all time were a pair of spectator pumps that were brown and black. Still putting those colors together! (Go for it, you might end up being a trendsetter)

Ug.... I think it is aweful unless it comes together in the store! If you are just wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans... don't wear a brown belt or brown shoes. Also....never do Navy Blue and Black!! ICK! Those fashion rules date back to.... well forever! lol =)

As fall approaches, darker colors are going to be more common. Black with brown is fine and you can accesories with other colors as well. Example; a Pair of black slacks with a white cotton shirt, brown sweater, brown shoes and large red purse.

I've done it for a long time because the two colors - especially a mocha or a khaki - can go well together. On the other hand a dark chocolate brown, I don't think looks very good at all.

I think brown and black are so hideous together. Todays fashion is utterly disgusting!!! These fashion designers must have run out of GOOD fashion ideas, so they just threw together the ugliest things to make their line and hoped that it looked decent (which it never does)

I agree that it depends on the shade of brown. If it's dark enough to blend with the black, then no.

I think the better question is how do you make RED and PURPLE incorporate into an ensemble.
