Eeek, that always happened at my parents house. I would have to end up sleeping in the living room, we didnt have a/c either. Get some fly strips.

Get yourself one of those battery operated fly zappers - they look like a fly swat, but give off an electric shock - they work a treat on all bugs - and no squish marks!!
But saying that I don't go out in the garden massacreing everything - just the odd thing that gets in to my bedroom! XD

get a fly screen. you can leave the window open without bugs getting in - problem solved

as an untallented chef i would cease to leave sweet or savoury items in my room uncoverd and get myself some thin mess to cover the gap caused by the window being left open. whats your beef!

bug repelent. close windows. turn 'OFF' air conditioning. keep some cleaning product by you unless you see a bug. pray.
