when my trailer is hooked up, the trailer brake lights work. The truck is only 2 years old, I wouldn't think it's the wiring.

There is a plug near the brake switch by the pedal. This is what sends the signal for the brake lights to go on as you press the brake. You may just need to plug this plug in.

are the turn signal and brake light the same bulb, if so sound like the turn signal switch is faulty ( the power for the brake lights goes throught the switch). If they are seperate bulbs check to if you have 12 volts at the brake light bulb socket. if so replace bulb. if not check wiring back to the switch

The fuse may be good, but do you have power across the fuse?

You could also check to see if you have power at the tail light by using an insulation piercing probe on a voltmeter to see if current is getting back there. If it is, you may be dealing with a corroded connector on the back of the tail light, or a corroded fixture in the tail light itself.
