1. Single eggs laid outside of a nest are rarely fertile. Turtles often lay what are basically 'practice eggs'.

2. The embryo of a turtle is incredibly lightly attached, and moving the egg can detach it, rendering the egg infertile. If the egg has been moved a lot, it is probably no longer viable.

3. You can make a good incubator by just putting some damp sand in a bucket, then put the eggs in the sand. Don't turn the eggs (some people mark the top with a small pencil mark), and be gentle. Heat the whole thing to about 80-85.

4. Be sure to provide the tortoise with a nesting site if it does not already have one.

The site below has other ideas you can try.

confident I had a Tortoise referred to as Tommy who laid an egg, so we had to rename her tomothea ours replaced into an predicted ninety seven years previous whilst she died. your friends mum and dad had greater proper rename her as this is defiantly lady,as for the egg , it would not have been fertile except she replaced into presented to a male.

well how long has is been on the floor? I think your supposed to keep it in an aquairium filled with sane and have a heater under it with a bowl of water in there with a cover to keep the humidity up and just wait or you can take it somewhere.

MMmmm mmmm good!
Honestly....It's not going to make it in that environment, plus it likely was not fertilized.

Break out the frying pan or hard-boil it, poach it or use it in turtle egg drop soup!
Lucky you! Try out turtle egg! It is regarded as a true delicacy!
This is cool, not gross!

you should maybe give it to the vet and ask the vet of how to take care of it, feed it. If it's too hard of a job then maybe you should give it away. I heard that those kind of turtles are expensive

i think the best thing to do is to either take care of it or take it one one of those animal insttutions that facilitate the care of the young tortoise. don;t let anyone influence you to kill or destroy it. that wil be the best thing you will do for that liite baby tortoise. orrrreeee cute little tortoise, don't let anyting happen to it. that was so nice that you feed it that's sweet. if you think you can take care of it why not?? try it and see men.
