No. That is an urban legend, not supported by the research. One particular problem with this line of research is that creativity is something difficult to define & objectively measure (much like intelligence).
To expand, some studies have demonstrated a small positive correlation (ignoring the flaws with methodology for a moment) - but as we know, correlation doesn't equal causation. When studies account for the % of left-handers who were forced to use their right hand (by parents) and essentially become right-handers, this correlation disappears anyways. So perhaps tolerant parents foster creativity and appropriate-hand use!
Mind you, there was a controversy some time ago with a similar study that showed a correlation between intelligence and race - suggesting that black people were less intelligent - but when studies properly controlled for socio-economic status, this relationship disappeared. A book called "The bell curve" documented this study.
PS - also an urban legend that people use one side of their brain more than the other. although centers for creativity etc. are primarily located in the right hem. and language in the left - one side can not dominate the other, we use both equally.

No, apparently not. It is a popular notion that lefties use the right side of their brains more and therefore more creative; but research suggests that left-handed people are more likely to use both hemispheres of their brains as opposed to right-handed people who tend to use the left side of their brain more.
The left side is the more analytical/logical side, while the right side is more creative/intuitive. I think that is why a number of lefties seem to have less difficulty learning to do things right-handed as well as left-handed, as opposed to a rightie trying to learn left-handed operations.
There are always exceptions. I have met left-handed people who have been rather analytical and logical, and hardly creative. And you still find a number of right-handed people who do creative things.
Lefties tend to be survivors - they cope with living in a right-handed world by having no choice but to adapt in their own way, and they do well at adapting to new situations. But as far as creativity goes, I don't think the theory necessarily holds water, even though I am a lefty who is relatively creative.

Left-handedness and intelligence
A common belief suggests that left-handed people are more intelligent or creative than right-handed people, and this theory is supported by some evidence. Evidence such as numerous studies that prove left-handed children learn to overcome obstacles at an earlier age, being left-handed in a primarily right-handed world.
In his book Right-Hand, Left-Hand,[18] Chris McManus of University College London, argues that the proportion of left-handers is rising and left-handed people as a group have historically produced an above-average quota of high achievers. He says that left-handers' brains are structured differently in a way that widens their range of abilities, and the genes that determine left-handedness also govern development of the language centres of the brain.
In Britain, around 11% of men and women aged 15-24 are now left-handed, compared to just 3% in the 55-64 age category. [19] McManus suggests a number of factors that may be driving this increase:
Left-handers were severely discriminated against during the 18th and 19th centuries and it was often "beaten out" of people
In adulthood, left-handers were often shunned by society, resulting in fewer marrying and reproducing
As discrimination was reduced in the 20th century, the number of natural left-handers who stayed left-handed increased
The rising age of motherhood contributed as, statistically, older mothers are more likely to give birth to left-handed children
McManus says that the increase could produce a corresponding intellectual advance and a leap in the number of mathematical, sporting or artistic geniuses.
Unfortunately, they tend to be over-represented at both ends of the intellectual scale, and as well as geniuses, the group also produces a disproportionately high number of those with learning handicaps. There have been suggestions of links between left-handedness and dyslexia, stuttering, and child autism, among other disabilities.

Yes it tends to be true. It is because your left hand is controlled by the right side of your brain. The right side of your brain controls your creativity, art, music, etc. while your left side of the brain controls math, reasoning, language etc. This does not mean that right handed people are not creative and that left handed people have no reasoning skills, it just means that there is a tendency and connection between the two.
