Cat, they are so soft and cute...and they don't smell as much as a dog does.

Depends on your lifestyle; if you can be home nearly every day, than dogs are fine. If you have to be away for as long as a week or two on occasion, then cats are a hands-down better choice.
Cats can take care of themselves while you are away; all that's required is a "two-week" feeder, two large litter boxes, and plenty of water. They'll be lonely but they won't ruin your house.
Dogs, on the other hand, must be "let-out" every day for hygienic reasons and for exercise. Even if you skip coming home only one night, you will find a mess when you get back.
Dogs are better buddies and more openly affectionate, but cats can become quite affectionate too, especially if handled a lot as kittens.

I prefer cats. I grew up with cats. I thinks cats have more variety of personalities, softness and cuddliness. They are playful and entertaining adaptable. Toilet trainable, naturally clean animals.
A dog is just a dog. In my opinion they are dumb animals. I could get to know them but why? Cats are SO much better.

both. there are dogs and cats that get along. dogs are playful when u want to be but when u r sad or lonely sometimes a calm cat will cheer u up. it balances out u c

Cat, because you can leave them for a few days and they will go to the bathroom where they should. And who wants to walk a dog on the hottest day of the year or coldest day of the year.

I personally like cats. they are allowed more often in apartment buildings and if you get an abyssinian its almost like having a dog.
although my mom has 15 dogs and 5 cats so I'm used to both.

Dog! They are more social, and will give you more affection. They actually care if you're around. They will be your best friend. And, personally I am allergic to cats.

dogs are easier 2 potty train and they shed less than cats plus u dont need a liter box
