In the early 90s, nearly 1 million Rwandans died after UN forces were prohibited by Kofi Annan, who was head of Peacekeeping at the time, from intervening. The US did nothing. Can we stand by and watch genocide occur?

Really? This is what you ask? You must be trying to find something to pin on a Democrat. Must be tough to be a Neo Con(vict) these days.

This is not a fair question to ask anyone. It's like closing the gate after the horse leaves the pasture. It is unfair to set back and pass judgment on history. Anything that happened yesterday is now history. By the time you read this....it will be history.
Getting back to your question....what do YOU think he could have done. Do you really think Annan would have listened? Then why didn't he? We can't presume to know why things were done, or not done. We were not in the White House on that day, nor do we know the circumstances that surrounded that day back in the 90's.
Debate's are fine....forum's are good too...but we cannot judge because we were not there on that day back in the 90's.

Maybe you should talk about Darfur, since it happened only 2 years ago instead of 15... and we did more in Rwanda (which wasn't much, than we even dreamed of doing in Darfur)...

we also tried to help in Somalia, but the Republican congress pulled the cord after black hawk down... 20 U.S. soldiers killed is apparently unacceptable if your trying to stop genocide in Africa...

Clinton also tried to help in Kosovo with the genocides, but the congress was there again to cry about it... I guess it's only OK to stop genocide if there is a Republican in the presidency?

Why do Democrats when asked a question they do not like always turn to Neocons, and wealthy people or Iraqi? No answers & not even good evasions of questions. Wealthy people helped by tax laws includes lots of Democrats that voted for it a.k.a. Sen. Kennedy & Clinton, plus all the "stars" Clooney, Steisand, & regular folks like Bill Gates. Money is not just owned by Republicans & I get sick of hearing Demos imply that it is. Our town is full of wealthy Demos including friends of mine. They take every tax deduction allowed too!

US has done it for years. Lynching of blacks, blind eyes to jewish Holocaust until Pearl Harbour, Bosnia, El Salvador, Rwanda, probably a few more!

The real question is "Why is the government YOU elected doing nothing but pushing their own agenda and making their buddies richer??"
