It was about a hillbilly type family that had a pet pig (I think his name was Milford) and the pig was the smartest one out of all of them?

Also, does anyone know if these are available on any DVDs anywhere?

“Pigs In A Pickle” (1954) is basically a cartoon spin-off from the “Ma and Pa Kettle” theatrical films which were very popular during the 1950’s. Universal made a lot of money on this series which featured the cornball hijinks of the hillbilly couple, and their 15 kids. Walter Lantz (Wood Woodpecker) made about 6 cartoon films which tried to play upon this situational humor, and this film is a typical entry. The family is celebrating the birthday of their pig “Milford”, whom always dines at their table. Unfortunately he is “pignapped” by the “Boomer Brothers”, 39 strong, all with big blue coveralls, red shaggy beards and bald heads. Maw & Paw do come up with some funky ideas to rescue the pig, but the end result is usually, “Didn’t Work Mawww”. The same might be said about this cartoon as it’s thin beer compared to the real “McCoy.” live action films. (You're welcome Ann C!)

The cartoon you are on about is Pig In A Pickle (1954) -- from the short-lived Lantz series Maw and Paw, which was inspired by Universal's popular Ma and Pa Kettle film series. It had the hillbillies rescuing the pig from death

I remember a hillbilly type family on the show Green Acres. The hillbilly family's name was Ziffel and they had a pet pg ig Arnold. The wife treated the pig like he was her son.

Sounds like "Green Acres" (not a cartoon) and the pig named Arnold.
